A factory finish, from a family shop
Since 2014, Eason Painting has run a dedicated Pre-Finishing department out of our Hall Road shop, headed by co-owner Chuck Walters. It is the part of our business we are proudest of: rack after rack of doors, windows, casing and moldings, each piece sprayed, stained or varnished in controlled conditions, sanded between coats, and inspected before it ever leaves the building.
For homeowners, that means new doors and windows show up finished, with no masking, fumes or overspray in the house, and no painter underfoot after the installer leaves. For builders, millwork suppliers and carpentry contractors, it means a reliable finishing partner who protects your schedule and your reputation.
Gel stains, custom color matching, catalyzed clear coats, paint-grade enamel packages: if it is wood and it deserves a beautiful finish, it belongs in our shop.

What exactly is pre-finishing?
Instead of painting or staining doors, windows and trim after installation, we finish them in our Clinton Township shop first, on racks, in controlled conditions, with spray equipment. The finished pieces then go to the job site ready to install. The result is a smoother, more durable factory finish with no overspray, fumes or masking in your home.
Why is a shop finish better than painting on site?
Control. In the shop we control dust, temperature and humidity, spray every face and edge evenly including the ones that are hidden after installation, and sand between coats. On site, gravity, dust and access work against even the best painter.
Who uses your pre-finishing services?
Homeowners replacing doors and windows, general contractors and custom home builders, remodelers, flooring and carpentry contractors, and cabinet and millwork shops across Metro Detroit. We handle one door or an entire house package.
Can you match my existing woodwork?
Yes. Stain matching is one of the most common jobs in the shop. Bring us a sample piece, a door or even a drawer front and we will build a custom stain and topcoat schedule to match it.
How did Eason Painting get into pre-finishing?
In 2014 we acquired a small painting business and built our Pre-Finishing department around it, led by co-owner Chuck Walters. It has grown into a dedicated shop producing spray and hand-applied finishes for windows, casing, doors, moldings and cabinets, with finishes second to none.
